I love writing, I’ve been writing since I was a kid. I especially enjoy reading and writing fantasy, adventure and children’s stories. My writing influences include CS Lewis, Roald Dahl, Brian Jacques and JRR Tolkien. I am also interested in screenwriting as I have a keen interest in film and TV. Comic book writing also interests me, since I enjoy superhero stories.
I love bookshops – Hodges Figgis is one of my favourites, and I work in a charity bookshop.
I have written a children’s fantasy book called A Legend of Tara: Fionn the Reviver. It’s a story about a warrior mouse called Fionn, who with his friends must save the land of Tara from being conquered by the evil falcon, Lord Malus. I got the idea for the story when I was a teenager but I never got around to finishing it until now.
I enjoyed very much the process of writing it, and was pleased that my friend Oisin Roche agreed to illustrate it.
I’d like to showcase my book in order to impress employers because finishing a book is a big achievement, I’d be interested in getting a job that involves writing or typing.
I’d also like to showcase this work, to help me find a literary agent or publisher who’d be interested in publishing my book.
My plan is to be a published writer and maybe even become a screenwriter or comic book writer. I would also be open to work in a bookshop or library as I currently enjoy working in a charity bookstore, as a volunteer. A bookshop that I would particularly like to work for would be Hodges & Figgis in the city centre or Alan Hanna’s in Rathmines.
