I am a passionate activist and disability advocate. I believe helping, disabled people, should be person-cantered. Everyone should have the right to make their own choices. I enjoy lobbying for improvements and changes to disability legislation. I want to make the world a better place. I’d like to see, disabled people getting their full rights. I would love to see the UN CRPD fully utilised so that everywhere would be accessible to everyone with a disability including invisible disabilities.
I would love to see those barriers, taken away, but it’s going to take a bit of time. I think the education system needs to be improved too, because when I was in school, I loved history. It was my favourite subject and I ended up failing it because I was a slow writer and couldn’t do essays. We need to educate the Educators. There should be a module on all disabilities for the teachers in college. I’d like them to know that one child with autism is one child with autism, not all autistic kids and teenagers are the same. I could have different sensory needs to someone else.
I am keen to raise awareness of disabilities in adults. There’s very little around adults. It’s like they think that your disability stops when you’re 18 years. I would like, everyone around me who has a disability, to get the supports that they need. I’d say the majority of my friends are either neuro divergent or, have a disability of some sort
